ABC ordered two additional episodes for “Modern Family“.
ABC is adding to the seasons of four returning series.
The network on Friday picked up two additional episodes of Grey’s Anatomy, Modern Family and The Middle, while adding an extra installment of Castle, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
With the orders, Grey’s Anatomy, Modern Family and The Middle’s respective seasons will run for 24 episodes, while Castle tallies 23.

As a member of the hilarious Modern Family cast, Ty Burrell has shot into fame in the past few years. ET caught up with Burrell, who talked about his popular sitcom and his co-star Sofia Vergara’s experience with on-screen pregnancy.
“I think she may be having a parallel experience where she isn’t pregnant but she’s constantly complaining about her back from the fake belly and that her feet are swelling,” Burrell said. “It’s essentially like she’s pregnant.”

This is amazing news! Deadline is reporting that Ty and his brother Duncan wrote a pilot for a comedy which will be produced by Fox with penalty.
Modern Family star Ty Burrell is expanding his relationship with ABC. In a competitive situation, ABC has bought a comedy, written and co-executive produced by Emmy winner Burrell and his younger brother Duncan. 20th Century Fox TV, the studio behind Modern Family, is producing the single-camera project, which has received a script commitment with penalty.
Based on the Burrell brothers’ childhood, this is a comedy about two city families who buy the only store in a tiny rural community in Oregon. In a world where everyone is overly stressed and reliant on technology, this group works together, without every modern convenience, to make a better life for their family.
